Welcome to Wisconsin Family Council’s (WFC) Voter Registration SALT Ministry Resource Kit. We have been blessed to live in a country where we are given a say in who governs us and how that governing is done. Registering people to vote is a great way to encourage them to exercise their duty, privilege, and freedom to vote. Christians have a duty to vote (see WFC’s Christian Involvement Resource Kit), and we must make our voices heard and our values known as we vote for those who represent us. Conducting a voter registration drive is an activity churches legally can and should participate in, in an effort to help Christians exercise their privilege and duty to vote. In this kit you will find the following:
Here are some action ideas for you to consider.
- Read the material so you fully understand how to register and how to help others register to vote.
- Preach and/or teach on the importance of voting (see Message Brief in the Vote Your Values packet).
- Hold voter registration drives within your church or community to get people registered and aware of an election. Use posters to help announce the date and location of the drive. Check with church leadership about announcing the event in your church bulletin.
- Gather email addresses to send reminders about election dates and to distribute voter information publications more efficiently.
Please feel free to copy and distribute as you wish any of the written materials in this kit, except the items with copyright protection printed on them. If you need more Why Christians Should Vote pamphlets, please do not hesitate to contact us toll-free at 1-888-378-7395.
